Position: Test Analyst

Suitable for: Manual Test Analyst, Manual Tester, Test Analyst or Software Tester with a minimum of 5 years’ experience

Location: Homebased (at least once a month in the office, Milton Keynes or Great Bookham)

Salary: £60,000 + bens

Our client is the leading UK supplier of integrated healthcare solutions to the NHS. Their software solutions are helping to revolutionise patient care across the country, driving improved patient outcomes and patient satisfaction and delivering greater efficiency across the healthcare system.

They build and deliver market leading applications in the remote monitoring, integrated care record and population health sector and following recent successes of their solutions, they’re looking to expand and add to their QA team.

They are looking to bring in an experienced Manual Test Analyst who will collaborate closely with developers and members of the QA team, and work with the Product team to understand requirements to prepare for testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating, planning and executing testing activities including test script creation and execution for our key projects.

The ideal candidate for the Manual Test Analyst role will need to demonstrate they have experience testing web-based applications, mobile applications and back-end services dealing with complex data and processing. Candidates with experience testing API’s, integration level testing, executing automation tests and non-functional testing would be desirable.

Manual Test Analyst - Skills/attributes:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Manual Test Analyst preferably in a senior position
  • An ISEB/ISTQB qualification is required for this role
  • Experience of web, mobile and backend application testing
  • Excellent experience in Functional Testing
  • Experience of creation, maintenance, and execution of manual test cases.
  • Experience of implementing and executing testing processes
  • Very good experience with Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
  • Very good experience in non-functional testing (load, stress, performance, recovery etc.)
  • Good experience in identifying, creating and maintaining test data
  • Experience of diagnosing, reporting, tracking, and resolving quality issues
  • Experience of testing commercial applications within a busy team atmosphere
  • Experience of testing browser-based solutions is essential and a good understanding of cross browser testing
  • Excellent understanding of software testing techniques and test processes and proven track record in delivering high quality solutions
  • Ability to organise, co-ordinate and prioritise personal and team day to day workload
  • Ability to coach junior members of the team and positively influence fellow team members
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills both orally and in writing
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and diplomacy
  • Good attention to detail
  • Pro-activeness and confidence in making decisions

Manual Test Analyst - Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of automated testing practices
  • Knowledge of Health Care systems
  • Experience of testing in an Agile development environment is highly desirable.
  • Computing/IT related bachelor’s degree (desirable).

Manual Test Analyst - Role and responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in the existing QA processes and continuously improve functional and non-functional testing at all levels, including but not limited to Agile QA, Integration testing, Regression testing, Automated testing, Technical Testing, Performance Testing, Stress/Load testing, Security testing.
  • Deliver to time, cost, and quality consistently across multiple projects in parallel as well as business wide programmes.
  • Determine the most appropriate testing for each project and work alongside the QA Manager, to deliver to milestones, executing test tasks and activities; track progress and delivery. 
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure QA environments are available, maintained and updated to support upcoming test requirements and are populated with suitable and appropriate test data sets.
  • Ensure QA tracking and reporting is executed and evidenced to meet relevant ISO audit requirements.
